A patent is the right of an inventor to produce, use, sell, or import the product based on their invention for a specified period of time. The document that demonstrates this right is called a patent. In traditional terminology, patent rights, which hold an important place within industrial property rights, are a right relating to an intangible asset that is of particular interest to developing countries, especially as a means of technology transfer.
What is a Utility Model?
A utility model is a system in Turkey and worldwide that provides patent-like protection to the owners of new, industrially applicable inventions. Obtaining a utility model certificate is advantageous for the applicant in terms of cost and short process, and is easier due to the absence of research and examination procedures.
Examined Patent; It is a document given to inventions that meet the criteria of whether they are novel, whether they have surpassed the prior art, and whether they are industrially applicable, after the search report received from the national office following the filing of a patent application. The duration of an examined patent is 20 years.
Unexamined Patent; This is a document issued by the national office after a patent application is filed, without a request for examination based on the received search report. An unexamined patent is valid for 7 years.
